MAGIX Hardware Overview:

MAGIX is a digital, ISDN-based PBX with modular system design that lets you pay only for the equipment and features that you need now ("pay as you grow"). The system can be quickly and easily expanded by inserting a new hardware module, and software requires only a small PCMCIA card that also stores system programming.

Modular design grows to 80 incoming lines and 200 telephones

 Incoming line modules: supports loop start, ground start, DID, OPT, TIE, T1, PRI, and BRI lines/trunks

Telephones: Choice of single line analog or multiline digital speakerphones (black or white): 6 button/display, 12 button/display, 24 button/display, or Wireless digital pocketphone. Here is an overview of the MAGIX telephone product line:

Reach Those On the Go

The Avaya TransTalk wireless pocket phone allows employees to work away from their desks but still be in touch. The MDW 90301P is a light weight wireless handset that fits easily into a pocket.

For those who need to move around or outside the office during a call, TransTalk® Digital Wireless Telephones provide secure, crystal-clear digital communication with unsurpassed range. This easy-to-use battery-operated pocket telephone has all the features of the MERLIN MAGIX deskphone.

It allows access to 12 lines, intercoms, or feature buttons, and has a display so you can see who is calling. High-quality full-duplex voice transmission means that even in very noisy environments conversations can go on uninterrupted. The TransTalk supports an optional headset to allow hands free answering and conversation, and a vibrator option avoids noisy interruptions.

  • ISDN connectivity: giving you more reliable communications, high-speed data transfer (up to 128Kbps…4 times faster than a 28.8 modem), and Internet access right from your MAGIX System.
  • Two Call Center solutions: automate your call handling to improve employee productivity and caller satisfaction with built-in service center features like automatic call routing to your service or sales groups, automatic queuing or stacking of calls, announcements to callers on hold, options to exit the queue and leave a message, queue threshold alarm levels for supervisors, historical or optional real-time statistical reporting of calls, and "screen-pops" of customer records with optional CTI software.

System Networking: You can link multiple offices together and share voice, data and video communications. You can connect with other MAGIX or Definity systems using a Unified Dial Plan (UDP) that speeds call-set-up and gives the appearance of a single site to your callers.

– Create a private network with T-1 circuits or TIE lines that can transfer extension names and numbers between sites, and provide high-speed voice/data links (up to 64 or 128 Kbps).

– Tandem switching within the private network for lower cost shared facilities (e.g. reduce costs by routing calls over your private network or by calling at local rates through another site).

– Remote call forwarding using Centrex circuits. This feature allows networking of sites with Centrex lines. Now you can route calls from an automated attendant to another site using the same Centrex line the call originated on, freeing that line for another call after the transfer is complete.

  • Computer-Telephone Integration (CTI) to PC’s or LAN: How long are your customers waiting for service? Imagine having your customers’ records right on your computer screen each time they called. You could save hundreds of dollars per month in network costs just by automating customer account retrieval. Optional Windows based software applications can integrate your computer and telephone systems to answer and dial calls from the computer keyboard, store caller names and numbers, and use Caller ID to quickly and accurately activate caller records ("screen-pops") before answering incoming calls.
  • Unified messaging: How much time do you waste checking voicemail, email and fax messages? Now you can consolidate your voice, email and fax messages into one visual mailbox on your computer desktop. Retrieve, view, reply, store, discard, print, create, replay and forward messages with the click of a mouse.
  • Wireless communication: MAGIX supports up to 24 multi-line digital wireless telephones that give you freedom of movement and total availability.
  • Video-conferencing: Reduce travel time and expenses by connecting a variety of group and desktop video systems with MAGIX's PRI or BRI interface capability.

Enhance your customer service while reducing costs! Now you can answer calls quickly, efficiently and professionally 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Route calls automatically to individuals, departments/calling groups, or to routine "bulletin board" announcements. Offer your callers personal, confidential and accurate messaging.
